Santa
Maria di Castellabate is to be found on the Cilento
Coast, “the unknown Italian Coastline”,
south of Naples, in the province of Salerno, Campania.
The Cilento area is situated in one of Italy’s National
parks and offers beautiful sandy beaches, clear water [Blue
flag of Europe from 1999], restaurants, shopping, water sports,
riding, tennis, trekking in wonderful nature, rental of boats,
bikes and mopeds, various excursions; for instance the Greek
temples of Paestum, the city of Pompeii
and the volcano Vesuvius, the grottos of Palinuro…
On the mountain above the small fishing villages Santa Maria
di Castellabate and San Marco di Castellabate you will find
the medieval town Castellabate, part of the UNESCO world’s
heritage together with the National Park of Cilento.
I moved from Norway to Santa Maria di Castellabate in 1994
and more than once I have had the pleasure to help out tourists
finding the right apartment for their stay here in this unspoilt
part of the world…
